john oast John “Toast” Oast, is a life-long outdoor enthusiast and fisherman. A former professional athlete, Oast co-founded the Williamsburg Kayak Fishing Association in 2005, and is the webmaster for
Fishyaker.com and OceanKayakAngler.com. He is a member of the Ocean Kayak Fishing Team and Dunkin-Lewis/Johnon Outdoors Pro Staff, the East Coast Kayak Fishing Team, and the Fishyaker Tournament Team. Oast’s kayak fishing exploits have been featured in various regional and national publications, including the Kayak Fishing Machine podcasts, Kayak Angler Magazine, and Kayak Fishing Magazine. Oast is proficient with both fly and conventional tackle, and can often be found fishing for any of the Chesapeake Bay’s abundant species of fish, or floating Virginia’s rivers and lakes for bass and crappie.
