Drew Gregory “ BasserDrew” to many, hails from Atlanta, GA, and currently resides in Greenwood, SC. He has been river fishing since he could handle a rod and reel, but for the past six years has been pioneering the sport of kayak fishing in freshwater rivers. Standing up and fishing out of his kayak for smallmouth, largemouth and shoal bass is his passion. He got into the sport of kayak fishing when he was still in college, because it was cheaper and more intriguing than traditional boat and lake fishing. Since then, his knowledge and passion for the sport has magnified. He is slightly addicted to finding new, unexplored water where big bass abound, and will stop at nothing to get to them which sometimes makes for some crazy adventures. What they’re sayin’ about Drew:
“… it was a tough assignment with the weather but you got us to some great fish. I really learned a lot and will try to use it to better explore riverbassin in New England. Getting the boat in position to fish is just as critical as the fishing itself. It is a lot more challenging than just getting in my Triton and fishing Champlain. Learning to use the drag chain and how to get to productive spots on the river will help me going forward. For a Yankee I hope I did OK. The Shoalies are amazing – you all are very lucky to have the opportunity to fish for them. The largemouth fishing seems like it is really good too – But I can see why you target the Shoalies! Thanks for a great time – it was tough checking all the conditions and getting us on the fish, but you did a great job. I hope to get back down there again as soon as possible… “
