 4-star Very Good!

Albany, Georgia  (Lower Flint River)

If you find yourself in Albany and have a hankering for some hotdogs, the best course of action is to pull over and make a stop at Jimmie’s Hotdogs.  Cheese, chili, onions, whatever your heart desires on your dogs, Jimmie’s has it, along with their custom of no seats inside the restaurant.  Jimmie’s has been around since 1947, and with such a long tradition in serving up wieners, they’ve got to be doing something right!  Rumor has it Jimmie’s serves up to 2,000 hotdogs a day.

The best hotdog in the south, is Jimmie’s Hot Dogs (An Albany Tradition) 204 S. Jackson St., Albany, GA – Contact: (229) 435-4751. There is something special about that place, no chairs or tables, just a line of poeple , from the register, along the counter in front the staff preparing the Jimmies, out the door and onto the sidewalk. You place your order, when summoned by the lead preparer, in a loud voice respond by saying, the quantity of Jimmies, and the type of condiments on each.  “Two all the way”, “With or Without” (Onions)… Jimmies are cheap, only $.90 each.  People order them by the tens and dozens.
